Activity for 2+ year old
The Arabic letter ra is pronounced r just like in English.
The Arabic letter ra is a sun letter. That means that the l in al is assimilated with ra and thereby pronounced as r In other words: The definite article for words that start with ra is pronounced ar, and not al.
Items needed:
- Red and yellow or nude coloured paper
- Bubble wrap
- Double sided tape/glue
- Red paint stick
- Cut a pomegranate shape out of the red paper, cut a circle from the second coloured paper, finally cut the bubble wrap
- Stick the papers together and the bubble wrap on top
- Use the paint stick to colour the bubble wrap
