Activity for 2+ year old
The Arabic letter dal is pronounced d just like in English.
We used the word دجاجة (dajajatun) or chicken in Arabic. The activity was creating a chicken out of a plastic glove that we blew air into, so the excitement was real. If your little one is smaller a paper plate chicken can also be fun.
Items needed:
- Plastic glove
- Red card or red coloured paper
- Yellow paper beak
- Googley eye
- Rubber band
- Paper cup
- Hole punch
- Straw
- Cut out 4 feather shapes and one comb shape from the red card/paper
- Cut a yellow beak shape
- Attach double sided tape to all the peices
- Stick the feathers to the finger compartments
- The beak, comb and Googley eye can be attached to the thumb
- Cut a hole in the cup – put the straw through the hole
- Attach the glove with the rubber band then blow through the straw to watch it inflate
